Board of Directors

  • Andre Ong, PhD

    Andre Ong serves as the Chair of Pacific Theological Seminary Board of Directors. He earned a BA from the College of Business, School of Institutional Management, Michigan State University, an MA in Theological Studies, from Bethel Seminary San Diego and a PhD in Philosophical Anthropology, from Claremont Graduate University. Andre is an experienced educator, speaker, author, and pastor. He currently serves as Senior Pastor for the International Christian Church of San Diego.

  • Janice Raymond, PhD

    Janice Raymond is the current Secretary/Treasurer of Pacific Theological Seminary. She also serves as the Chief Operations Officer. She holds a BA form the University of North Carolina, an MDiv from Bethel Seminary San Diego, and a PhD from Fuller Theological Seminary. She was a missionary in Russia and Mongolia for 15 years. Janice was the founder of AnsMar Publishers Inc. where she wrote and published a series of elementary math books. She is an experienced educator and missionary.

  • Samuel Alatorre

    Samuel Alatorre holds a bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University, an MS from National University and an MDiv from Bethel Seminary San Diego. He is a bi-vocational pastor/teacher. Since 2000 he has been a public servant, employed by the City of San Diego, currently working as program manager, leading fiscal budgeting and managing financial staff. His ministry calling has been to the Hispanic community. Currently he provides pastoral support at the Rock Church San Diego, mentoring couples, teaching discipleship and leading Bible study groups.

  • Brian Bernados

    Brian Bernados holds a BS from University of Pittsburgh, and a MS from San Diego State University. He has worked as Senior Engineer, Division of Drinking Water, for the California State Water Board since 1992. Brian has been an active lay leader in several churches, currently serving as a part of the healing team and Order of St. Luke at Holy Spirit Anglican Church in San Diego.

  • Edward Chiu

    Pastor Edward Chiu was born and raised in Hong Kong and came to United States for college in 1990. After obtaining his BS from University of Nevada, Reno, he started as a software engineer and eventually became V.P. of Engineering in a public-safety and public-health focused software solution provider. In 2009 he was called by the Lord into ministry. He completed his MDiv degree at Bethel Seminary San Diego and is currently a DMin candidate at Gateway Seminary. Edward has served Chinese Bible Church of San Diego in multiple roles, currently as Acting Cantonese Pastor.

  • Kent Eaton, PhD

    Kent Eaton holds a BA from Texas Christian University, a Diploma. Estudios Hispánicos from Universidad de Barcelona, a ThM from Dallas Theological Seminary, and a PhD from the University of Wales Trinity St. David. In addition to his scholarly work, Eaton is an experienced higher education administrator, including extensive work in theological education. He is excited to be a part of Pacific Theological Seminary and desires to see Pacific established as a key partner of the local church in the formation of emerging leaders.

  • Dennis Keating

    Dennis Keating received his undergraduate degree in accounting from San Diego State University and an MDiv from Talbot Theological Seminary. Dennis served many years at Emmanuel Faith Community Church in Escondido, including 26 years as Senior Pastor. He has preached through most of the Bible, led a large and diversified staff, oversaw the planting of 4 churches and spoken at Pastors and family conferences locally and internationally. He retired from Emmanuel Faith in 2019 and now leads Grateful Shepherd Ministries.

  • Carson Kiesel

    Carson Kiesel currently serves on the Emmanuel Faith Community Church Administration Council, and was an Elder from 1981 to 2007. He is on Dennis Keating’s Board for his future ministry. He has also served on the board for the National Network of Youth Ministries from 1982 to 2015. He has been with the CARVIN CORP since 1962, later serving as President. In 2018 he began serving as VP with his son, Joel Kiesel as President and his daughter, Kristen Lieurance as VP.

  • Roberta Morgan

    Roberta Morgan graduated from Bethel Seminary San Diego with an MA. She has previously served as Women’s Ministry Director and Small Groups Coordinator at Fair Oaks Church in Concord, CA, Women’s Ministry Director at Gateway Church (now Crossline) in El Cajon, CA, and Small Group coordinator, along with her husband John, at Clairemont Emmanuel Baptist Church in San Diego, CA. She and John founded Bay Air Systems, Inc, a commercial heating and air conditioning company, in 1981 and she is currently president of the company. She is also CFO of JK Morgan Company, a building management control installation and consulting company which they founded together in 1983.

  • Susie Rowan

    Susie Rowan is an attorney, ministry leader and Bible teacher. In 2009, after spending nearly 10 years in Latin America and Asia planting Bible classes for Bible Study Fellowship (BSF), Susie began to serve as Executive Director/CEO of BSF, a global, interdenominational, in-depth Bible study ministry. Since her retirement from BSF in 2021, she teaches the Bible in Kansas City, hosts tours to Israel, and speaks at women’s events in local churches. She received a JD from the University of Missouri - Kansas City. Susie and her husband Roger have been married for 47 years and continue to enjoy golf together and especially family activities with their children and grandchildren.

  • David Walden, DMin

    David Walden is the President and founder of MOTE, a missions organization serving in six nations. He previously served as Director of Pastoral Care for Palomar Pomerado Health (1995-2008), as a volunteer chaplain with San Diego Sheriff’s Department (2002-2007), and as adjunct faculty at Bethel Seminary San Diego. Prior to his ministry he was the founder of Orange County Tax and Financial Services. David holds a bachelor’s degree from Calvary University, an MDiv and DMin from Bethel Seminary. He is a Board Certified Chaplain (BCC).
